The why of theINFOWIRE?
If someone asked you “how much information is there in the world?” would you know the answer to that is? Well let me tell you the answer. By 2011 we had created 1.8 zettabytes of data (equivalent to 1.8 trillion gigabytes) and it is estimated that by 2020 we will generate over 40 zettabytes. That is a big number, a really big number, but why is it important?

Isn't all this data out there a good thing? The age of information is supposed to streamline everything and make it more efficient, but at the end of the day isn't there something as too much information?

“Scientia potentia est”.
That phrase commonly is translated as “Knowledge is power”, but the actual translation is “Organized knowledge is power.”

All this data out there is great, but unless you know what you are looking for then all this data is useless. With so much information out there it is easy for people to drown in it, to become inane and senseless to this information and just go with the flow, and I want to help you stop that.

I want to attempt to sensitize the flood of information available in this haystack of data, to curate it and help inform you of anything relevant in the world, to find a needle of information that is relevant to you. Anything that will give you “organized knowledge” to empower you, because what happens out there does affect you, but it is entirely up to you how you confront those events that affect you.

And at the end of the day why should you care? If my previous arguments didn’t sway you any which way or even if they did my answer is you shouldn’t, but if you have nothing better to do then why not help me contribute to the deluge of information out there!

And will this endeavour succeed? Well we won't know until we try it!
